May 7th was an exciting and active chase day on the plains. As many as ten tornadoes were produced with a large long tracked supercell which tracked from Windthorst, KS to over east of Pratt, KS. While my chase partner (Gene Moore) and I were initially on this large cell, we broke off to the SW to intercept an approaching LP supercell which we believed to be a sure thing for tornadoes and very photogenic with high contrast. This perception turned out to be true as we ended up catching  a beautiful laminar tornado near Bucklin, KS. We both set up on tripods and filmed the lifecycle of this very natural tornado in  it's country element.  Gene captured it with his VX2000 and I with my Hi-8. Target for the day was generally west of Great Bend so we had to make slight adjustments, but overall not a bad forecast.
